Marc Geelhoed is the CSO Resound coordinator for the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. In that capacity, he manages the CSO’s live recordings on its independent recording label CSO Resound. Thus far, those compact discs and downloads have featured conductors Pierre Boulez, Bernard Haitink, Myung-Whun Chung, and Alan Gilbert, and have been produced by James Mallinson, Everett Porter, and David Frost, and have won two Grammy Awards.

Prior to joining the CSO administration, he was associate music editor and classical music writer for the weekly magazine Time Out Chicago (archived articles), and contributed to Slate, the New Statesman, New Music Box; and the Financial Times. He also wrote for many newspapers in the Midwest. In addition to classical music and jazz, he also helped out as a book reviewer and occasional fitness writer at TOC.

An active runner, Geelhoed has ran four marathons, and has no problem running through a Chicago winter.

He earned a BA in Music, with a focus on trumpet, from Butler University in 2000 and graduated with an MA in Musicology from Indiana University in 2003.
